"I am very impressed with your business model.  Your offerings go far beyond what a parent could learn by reading on the internet, attending a high school guidance counselor presentation, or checking out a book from the library. Your service list shows a level of expertise and personalization that would make it worthwhile for a family to invest in your offerings."

Kathleen, University of Pennsylvania, ’98,

M.Ed. & MBA, Columbia, 2000

"Jeannie’s incredible knowledge reduced the usual stress associated with the college admissions process. She answered every question and concern I had, and guided me using a very relaxed approach. Jeannie helped me get accepted at my ‘reach’ school and I could not be happier."

Ella, NYU, Tisch, Class of 2011

"Ms. Borin has personally born witness to some of the most academically competitive and varied programs in the country. As a professional educator, she is not just committed to education, she's committed to helping people educate themselves, which is ultimately what any great counselor does well. The depth of her experience is matched only by the breadth of her compassion for those in her care."

Randall, 2004, Director of College Placement

"From guiding me through my college search and preparing my college list, to giving me all the necessary advice and helping me with my essays, I got into all my first choice schools. I couldn’t have asked for more! Thanks, Jeannie"

Derek, Boston University, Class of 2010

"During my college process, Jeannie really got to know me. She used this when helping with my essays and Brag Sheet. She is incredibly easy to speak to and I felt I could contact her anytime and ask her any questions. For everyone and anyone that is applying to college, I highly recommend her!"

Dana, Tisch, NYU, 2003

"Jeannie provided exceptional insight and guidance through the college admissions process. As a parent, her wisdom and understanding of the process was extremely helpful. She was very available and helped advise us about different colleges, how to best emphasize a student's strengths and what makes a good application stand out. "

Rebecca, mother of Max, Class of 2006

Communication between College Connections and the parents is essential to the success of the student.

Concerning the college list preparation, family members are encouraged to contribute their ideas. However, students should be in charge of the process and develop independent thinking as to what they are looking for in a school.

Visiting colleges is important to the college selection process. Personal interviews while on a visitation can also be helpful. Parents are generally responsible for making appointments with admissions and campus tour offices. Colleges today pay close attention to expressed interest on the part of parents and students.

The college or university choice is a family decision. College Connections helps parents and students make that life decision on which offer of admission to accept. Parents and students are therefore happy with the decision and feel more confident about their choice.

A Personal Note To Our Parents and Students

"For some students, the college selection process has become so complex and the increasing use of technology so daunting, that they feel additional assistance is warranted. An increasing number of students and their parents have turned to resources outside the school environment to aid them in their search for appropriate colleges and universities and admissions counseling information."

-National Association of College Admission Counseling

PARENTS:

WE ASSIST YOU IN MAXIMIZING YOUR CHILD’S  POTENTIAL FOR HAPPINESS         AND SUCCESS.

  • Your children face many educational options after graduation from high schools and the choices and decisions can be confusing.

  • School counselors offer their abilities   to help support and guide students through the difficult and multifaceted college process. Due to budget constraints or additional schoolwide responsibilities, the current counselor   to student ratio is 500 to 1. Providing  the quality and personalized college-counseling care for students becomes difficult regardless of their expertise.

  • The college admissions process has become increasingly more intricate   and competitive.
It is not surprising that more and more families are flocking to counseling services outside the school to assist them in finding the right college match.

  • This is one of the biggest decisions your family will make. Can you afford  not to do this?

You are invited to assure your

  child’s future and enjoy their

  teenage years without the stress

  of the admissions process using

  friendly, professional and

  personalized service.

  STUDENTS:

IT’S A LIFE EXPERIENCE.  LET’S MAKE IT A POSITIVE ONE!

  • This is your time to identify what really matters to you and make some difficult choices and decisions.

  • Careful time management and meeting deadlines are more important than ever.

  • Deciding what classes to take, where to apply to college, which internet sites are best, who to go to for your recommendations , what to put on your "Brag Sheet", which extracurricular programs to pursue and what to write in the essay are just a few considerations.

  • Interviews and visitations also need guidance.

  • This is probably your first time doing this and have little experience in the process.

  • College Connections can actually make this whole process fun by taking all the stress, frustration and nerves away.

The student is responsible for developing their college search. An

assessment at the beginning of the program gives background

information to then develop a comprehensive list of colleges to

consider. From this list, students are asked to research the colleges.

Once researched, students put the schools of interest on their list.

Good communication between the student and the College

Connection Counselor is essential.  Students communicate their

thoughts and impressions of their college list and successfully

narrow  it down, thereby becoming more confident and self assured.

Students write their own essays, develop their own Brag Sheets, and

fill out their own applications. College Connections oversees the

process and evaluates the submitted essays, recommendations,

portfolios (if applicable), and applications.  The student is in charge.

Experience indicates that students responsible for their own college

process means a higher probability that they will be successful once

  attending their final choice college.
